Why Telepsychiatry?
Telepsychiatry provides unique benefits to patients and has been determined to have the same or better outcomes than in person visits. Patients no longer have to drive to appointments and can easily adjust their work schedule or lunch to accommodate a telepsychiatry visit during the day. This is a particularly helpful setup for busy professionals or those with non-traditional work schedules. Telepsychiatry can bring services to patients from urban to very rural locations. While Dr. Morel will always be in a HIPPA compliant and private environment during treatment sessions, telepsychiatry relies on the patient to determine what environment they are comfortable receiving treatment in. It is important to keep your privacy in mind and patients accept responsibility for their privacy or lack there off on their end of the connection.

What to Expect?
Dr. Morel is known for her direct approach of communication with her patients. Using motivational therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy
Dr. Morel strives to achieve the highest level of functionality and success with her patients. By partnering with her patients and providing education on psychiatric conditions and treatments available, Dr. Morel works with her patients to determine the best treatment approach.
Prior to appointments patients are asked to fill out background information and sign releases. Treatment starts with an intake psychiatric assessment where Dr. Morel learns the patients concerns, goals, and important personal background. This appointment takes approximately an hour. A patient can expect follow up appointments at least every three months until stability is achieved. While primarily a practice focused on medication management, Dr. Morel is available for individual therapy sessions as well.

Dr. Morel does not engage in disability evaluations with new patients and does not prescribe controlled substances due to regulations for tele-psychiatry. With many other treatment options available this should have no negative impact on your care.
